Alex Beadon: A Purposeful Soul
I’ve been following Alex Beadon on Social Media for 3 years now. Her energy, enthusiasm and realism were part of the things that attracted me to keep that ciber relationship. She shows herself as she is, with ups and downs, and seeing than from an influencer with more than 25,000 Instagram followers is comforting. Her attitude and commitment have taught me that no matter where you are or how big your community is, you must be true to what you believe, what you want.
Last September I had the opportunity of meet Alex in New York City, and believe me when I say, she is as real as she projects herself on Social Media. Living this event gave a boost to my vision and what I would like to accomplish; gave me light and understanding that there are great models to follow, real people just like me, and if they’re doing it, why can’t I? I hope she can do the same for you!
Welcome to an interview with Alex Beadon, Enjoy!
1) Tell us a little about yourself: where you come from, your studies, your family.
My name is Alex Beadon. I was born in Trinidad and Tobago, but was a real third culture kid, having moved country 10 times by the age of 14. The most important people in my life are my family: my mum, dad, and my sister. I went to university to study Management and Marketing and became self-employed as soon as I graduated.
2) How would you describe yourself?
I'm a very spirited and energetic person. I feel things deeply, and consider myself an empath. I'm obsessed with the internet, culture, and being. I'm kind, compassionate and loyal. I'm highly creative and strategic. I believe everything is always happening *for* you, not *to* you.
3) What comes to mind when you hear “Woman with Vision”?
How grateful I am for the ability to have vision. To be able to see something in your minds eye and work towards it. It's a beautiful thing us humans have the honor of experiencing.
4) What led you to become an online business coach?
I started selling self-made Photoshop Actions from the comfort of my bedroom. That business made $100,000 USD in a 12 month time frame with 0 spend on advertising. And then people started to ask me how I did it. So I started sharing, and realized I had a true passion for nurturing people to learn how to get paid for what they love doing in the world.
5) What women have inspired you along your entrepreneurial journey?
Laura Ferreira. Jessica Claire. Marie Forleo. Elizabeth DiAlto. Sarah Stevenson of Sarah's Day.
6) What advice would you give other women who are still deciding between their 9-5 jobs or starting their own business?
Running your own business is *not* for everyone. But if you feel the calling, it may very well be for you. Start small, take *one* small action step every day. It doesn't have to be all or nothing. You can start small!
7) How do you assess the role of minority women as Influencers and in social media?
Their voices are *so important*. The beauty of the online world is that it gives everyone a platform. So I think the role of minority women as influencers in social media is a very, very important one because there is power in sharing their stories, if they choose to do so. I believe their voices have already started to break a lot of the social injustice that still happens to this day.
8) Do you believe Social Media provided women with power that we did not have a decade or even five years ago? If so, how do you recommend women use that power?
Yes, of course. Social media has definitely given women a voice, has allowed us to come together in community, and has gifted us with a lot of opportunities. I recommend women use social media in whatever ways make them feel empowered.
9) How do you see yourself and your brand in five years?
In five years I am most excited to experience a deeper knowing of who I really am, and living a life that is a true reflection of what matters most to me. And my business will be a beautiful reflection of that.
10) We could say that most of your audience is feminine. What is the most important thing you want them to see, know, and apply from your content?
I want everyone who consumes my content to know that they are full of the innate power to create a life they absolutely love.
